Hey Rob! A great characted indeed!... I didn't get to meet Guillaume de Castelnau this day but I have heard a lot of good things about him.

Your comment complement my review perfectly, thank you for that.

Chateau des Jacques is run by Baron Guillaume de Castelnau who is responsible for its change of fortune and revitilisation.Previously one of France's tank commanders he retired to make wine.A great character, Guillaume regularly represents the Beaujolais region all over the world.Chateau des Jacques wines are balanced and modern in style. The reds are accessible and the whites a hidden secret. In November every year Guilluame hosts the competitors on the world famous Beaujolais Run.A charity car event around the release of Beaujolais Nouveau.

Greetings M. Wine!

Our primary focus is on the winery itself. Our standardized evaluation is scored solely on the winery (physical plant, knowledge of staff, customer service, hospitality, cleanliness, etc.). We would welcome you to score any winery you would like using our standardized approach. We'll post your scoring and comments via our Twitter account and credit you with the scoring. We'll also post your comments and winery photos on our site (crediting you as well). Some of our operatives have assumed identities but you might prefer to use your own name.

Meanwhile, though we don't have a standardized method for scoring wine, we would welcome your comments on non-alcoholic wines to be posted here.

We really appreciate your interest.

Thanks,

Ciao Vicky Wine,

Thanks for visiting . . . if you're interested in scoring for us, please email us at winespy@comcast.net. You don't have to wait until you're here. We have "operatives" visiting wineries wherever they live. We'd love to have you score wineries in France. We, and our other spies, do this for love of wine. Our goal is to promote wineries by giving wineries honest and standardized feedback.

Thanks again,

The Wine Spy

Hello Wine Spy,

I am curious about knowing who you are. I live in Paris now and I am moving to SF this summer, where are you located? I'd love to participate in your winery scores. Hope we can keep in touch.

We are based in Sonoma County. We spy on wineries. We send operatives into the field to complete a standardized review of wineries. If our operative must blend in with the locals by drinking wine, so be it. Our standardized scoring is reported if the winery achieves 70% or better. Below 70% and we report only that the winery scored below 70%. Our goal is to provide consumers with a standardized means of comparing wineries. Follow us on Twitter: thewinespy.
